What Is Crypto Futures Trading?

FuturesRadar Academy • Practical market guide • Not financial advice

Understand perpetual futures, margin, long positions, short positions and leverage risk.

This guide is educational only. It is not a recommendation to buy, sell, long or short any asset. Crypto futures involve high risk.

A contract rather than a coin purchase

A futures position tracks a contract price. A long benefits from a rise and a short from a fall, before costs. Perpetual contracts remain open without a scheduled expiry and may involve funding payments. Owning a contract is different from holding the underlying asset.

Linear USDT P&L

For 2 units bought at 100 and closed at 110, gross long P&L is (110 − 100) × 2 = 20 USDT. A short of the same quantity loses 20 USDT over that move. Fees and funding alter the final result. Inverse contracts use different formulas.

Before interpreting a signal

Check the contract symbol, settlement asset, quantity unit, fee schedule and margin mode. FuturesRadar highlights activity in its scan; it does not place orders or know your account exposure. A score is not a personalized entry recommendation.

Separate exposure from ownership

Hypothetical worked example. A hypothetical long futures exposure of 500 USDT changes by about 5 USDT for a 1% favorable price move, before costs. This is contract exposure; it does not mean the website purchases or holds the underlying asset for you. Margin and settlement depend on the exchange contract.

Does FuturesRadar open a position?

No. The website reads public market data and offers educational calculations. A watch label is not an executed order, and the site has no personal exchange account connection.
